Q-Tools Webinars
Join a webinar and listen to our application specialists using QTools, and learn how to analyze and quantify your data. The only thing you need is speakers/headphones and an internet connection.

Go to Q-Sense Webinar Center for more details and registration!

Self-paced QTools training
There are two main ways to quantify your QSoft raw data:
- Sauerbrey calculations for quick mass/thickness quantification
- Fitting to Voigt model for determination of the material parameters viscosity, elastic moduls and mass/thickness of non-rigid films.

Which one should you choose? Sauerbrey is a quick method but requires that the adsorbed layers on the sensor surfaces are rigid - otherwise it will underestimate the adsorbed mass. As soon as quantification throguh modeling is possible, i.e. when the adsorbed film is not too rigid, modeling should be preferred.

Watch a walkthrough of Q-Tools 3.0 basics, where viscolastic data is quantified from a protein adsorption Q-Soft data set.

QCM-D Basic Training courses
In the US, QCM-D basic training courses are organized about 4 times per year in collaboration with our center of excellence; the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials at Rutgers University.

The aim of the course is to provide a basic level of understanding of QCM-D technology, routine applications, operation of Q-Sense instruments and data analysis. Considerable time will be spent with hands-on instruction of instrument operation as well as surface and sample preparation. Q-Sense methods and protocols collection will be reviewed and used throughout the course. There will be a session on data analysis and introduction to viscoelastic modeling of acquired data. Participants will, after the course, be able to plan, perform and analyze experiments.

Q-Sense Scientific meetings
The QCM-D scientific meetings are excellent opportunities to learn from and share thoughts with other QCM-D users and to get support on data analysis on an individual level. The meetings have been well attended and much appreciated over the last couple of years.

Training included in system purchase
When purchasing a Q-Sense system, training covering hands-on operation of the instrument as well as data evaluation is always included. The training allows users to exploit the full potential of the QCM-D system. Ask your local sales representative for more details.
